  • Richmond Olympic Oval

    Over the past decade the Richmond Olympic Oval has become synonymous with international wheelchair rugby, having hosted the 2010 World Wheelchair Rugby Championships, four Canada Cups and the annual Vancouver Invitational Wheelchair Rugby Tournament.

  • A world-class sport and recreation venue full of fantastic amenities and things to do. The Oval features multiple courts, ice rinks, an indoor running track, climbing walls, and fitness centres for both community members and high-performance athletes training for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

     

    The Oval is also home to the The Richmond Olympic Experience, a highly interactive and dynamic visitor experience, featuring state-of-the-art Olympic and sport simulators, skill testing challenges, hundreds of Olympic artefacts and digital archives featuring iconic Olympic and Paralympic stories from every year of the Games. Partnered with the International Olympic Committee, the Richmond Olympic Experience is the only Olympic Museums Network member in Canada.

    • The Richmond Oval was designed above and beyond accessibility standards and is one of the most wheelchair accessible sports facilities in BC.

      • All 3 major entrances have automatic double sliding glass doors, there are a number of accessible washrooms  throughout the facility, multiple elevators and team changerooms that are large and spacious enough to hold an entire wheelchair rugby team.For spectators, we will have accessible seating available on both courts and in our beer garden on on a first-come, first-serve basis.

      The Oval’s fitness centre also has a range of accessible equipment so that athletes and patrons with disabilities can work on their strength and conditioning in an inclusive and accessible environment.
